The Maryland Therapy Network, Inc. (TMTN) was one of only four organizations awarded a contract for special education services for Baltimore County. The new contract enables TMTN to expand its services to Baltimore County children with the addition of special educators, early child teachers, and behavioral consultants to our team of therapists.

On behalf of the Maryland Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA), TMTN President Marie Noplock presented MSHA's 2009 grant to members attending the 2009 ASHA Convention in New Orleans. TMTN was one of several sponsors of the State's Interagency Coordinating Council's Recognition Ceremony. This event was held to increase awareness of the importance of Maryland's Infant and Toddler Programs.

Marie coordinated and facilitated the Inaugural Maryland Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Insurance Advocacy Network Meeting at The Hearing and Speech Agency in Baltimore. Marie was instrumental in securing the MSHA grant to establish this NETWORK of providers working to improve patients' access to therapy by addressing problems with insurance reimbursement policies.

Marie trained 25 Baltimore County Head Start Teachers in a workshop entitled "Encouraging Language Development in Early Childhood Settings." Based on The Hanen Program's Training Series, Learning Language and Loving It, the workshop is part of TMTN's ongoing effort to help local teachers more effectively address language development issues in preschool classroom settings.
